Here at The Cake Club we’ve been the number one provider of a graze table in Kent for the last 6 years. In fact we were the first one in the county to create them! And with almost 100 5* reviews on Facebook and Google it’s clear why we’re the number one choice. But why should you choose a graze table as your wedding breakfast or evening buffet?

  1. Cost

The number one factor for most couples choosing a graze table is cost. We have had hundreds of couples come to us over the years to say they have had quotes for £75-£150 per head (!) for a sit down meal to be served at their wedding. When you have 75+ guests (the most common headcount we’re asked for) it quickly adds up.. I mean, who really has £10,000 to spend on one meal?

Graze tables are a fantastic alternative to a sit down meal because they are so budget friendly. Our most popular graze is our Classic Graze. This is a combination of sweet, savoury and comes with a tropical fruit selection. This is the most comprehensive menu and comes in at £15 per head. That’s a whopping 90% saving over the usual price of a three course meal! We have a variety of other menus on offer, all ranging from £10-£15 per head.

  1. Variety

We all know that there is a definite dread for couples and guests alike when the invitations go out and you have to choose between three starter, main meal and dessert options which are all limiting, bland and likely to be overcooked or cold. Most opt for an inoffensive chicken roast with a meager portion of over boiled vegetables, cold potatoes and a congealed gravy whilst the vegan options are usually filled with mushrooms, spinach and peppers, assuming this is what vegans actually eat.

With a Cake Club graze table the variety is quite spectacular, especially comparing it to all of the above. We offer a huge array of options for all tastes with some of our favourite options listed below:

Taw Valley Extra Mature cheddar cheese served with a delightful selection of premium or homemade chutneys and pickles

Giant homemade pork pies encased in our delicious hot water crust pastry, filled with free range pork meat

Homemade cranberry, brie and free range pork sausage rolls with buttery puff pastry topped with nigella seeds (perfect for a Christmas wedding!)

Homemade zesty guacamole surrounded by a rainbow selection of celery, peppers, baby cucumber, babycorn and trimmed spring onions

Selection of delicious vegan mediterranean falafels, moroccan spiced falafels and sweet potato pakoras

Sandwich platters loaded with deep-filled sandwiches of your choice served on soft and fluffy tiger bread

  1. Dietary requirements

Have guests who require gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, egg free, milk/lactose free or have other intolerances? We can guide you through the process of catering for them, whether it be a separate picnic box for each guest, a gluten free bread basket on the table. Maybe you need a vegan platter loaded with their favourite treats or doing an entirely vegetarian spread? We can certainly help you.

Please note that ceoliacs disease cannot be catered for by us. This is an autoimmune disease and gluten is an airborne allergen which cannot be catered for by using gluten free ingredients alone. We recommend sourcing coeliac-friendly food from a registered gluten free business online which can be set-up on a separate display.

  1. Options to suit all tastes

The joy of using graze tables, buffets and finger food is your guests can choose exactly what they would like to put on their plate. All options are clearly laid out, labeled alongside a menu with allergens and flavours. If Great Aunt Susan doesn’t like Brie, she doesn’t need to put it on her plate! I can personally guarantee there will be options to suit everyone’s tastes.

Our graze tables are custom made to your tastes, with a sample menu provided which you can tweak to your liking. In-person consultations can also be arranged, so we can get to know you as a couple and discuss your personal preferences. We can take on all sorts of requests such as whole joints of honey roasted ham to be carved by your guests, personalised savoury bakes to replicate those from your favourite bakery. Even cured meats and foreign cheeses imported from previous holiday destinations (wherever possible).

  1. Delicious add-ons

One of our most popular additions to a graze is our self-service hot food, with our slow roasted pulled pork as the star of the show. Roasted for 10+ hours in apple cider (or cola for those with non-alcoholic menus) and flavoured with BBQ or cajun spicing. Served with roast potatoes, homemade rainbow slaw, apple sauce and brioche buns. It’s the perfect addition for any graze to add variety and substance to a beautiful graze selection.

We also offer picnic-style additions such as pasta salads, quiches, sandwich platters and more. For those who prefer a pescatarian diet we offer whole sides of salmon, miniature prawn cocktails, homemade smoked mackerel pate and platters of smoked salmon. All served with fresh homegrown parsley and Sicilian lemon wedges.

In conclusion there are a vast amount of benefits of choosing a graze table as your day time or evening buffet. If you’re considering using The Cake Club as your caterer, you’ll be making an informed and fantastic choice that you’ll be reminiscing about in years to come!
